Hi! I'm Dave Riggs, and as a digital marketer I help companies acquire customers, improve online presence, and achieve Internet marketing & product goals.
I’m curious, passionate, and always seeking ways to create new products and optimize businesses using technology. I am well-versed in web programming & scripting, SEO, and PPC campaign creation & management.
Back in 2007, I started developing mobile content distribution apps for social networks using the Facebook API and Open Social code. It became clear that social media would allow companies to be more agile and responsive to customers, getting people to share information with you and leveraging the information that you share with them.
The growth of social networks exposed some crazy-powerful ad targeting capabilities, specifically with MySpace and Facebook.
In 2008 I built an internet marketing company from scratch, Rockbox Media, and generated profit via affiliate marketing on Facebook, MySpace and Google. I wrote custom software to automate campaign creation & ad management, which provided a distinct advantage over my non-programming affiliate competitors.
One of my favorite affiliate clients was SafetyWeb, whose co-founder coerced me to come on board as their lead customer acquisition guy. Less than a year after we secured VC funding, Experian acquired us.
Experian provided a great environment to launch massive marketing campaigns and test new businesses, but ultimately my passion lies in high-growth startups. After meeting the founders of Laurel & Wolf, I jumped at the chance to lead their digital marketing efforts. Now with $5.5M in funding (Feb 2015) and the backing of Charles River Ventures, I'm accelerating our digital marketing campaigns as we bring interior design into the online era.
Director of Marketing @ 1st marketing hire. We connect professional interior designers with customers. I drive traffic, optimize on-boarding, acquire customers, and generate revenue.

I took a risk I have not regretted and started my own company, Rockbox Media, focused on online advertising, internet marketing, and software development on Facebook, MySpace and Google. The custom software I wrote automated campaign creation, demographic targeting, competitive research, and statistical analysis - all with the primary goal of maximizing daily profit and ROI.
Having 10+ years experience in software programming at the time, I utilized Java-related technologies to code nearly everything, including Spring MVC, Hibernate, and Tomcat, and developed PHP scripts for 3rd party API integration, Web site scraping, internal tracking systems, and automating repetitive tasks.
I also built niche content Web sites that generated passive income through SEO and Google AdSense.
