Dan Bentham MEng CEng MEI Chartered Energy Engineer, has worked in the low carbon energy sector for over 10 years and is currently the Head of R&D | Smart Customers. He started his career in the research and development of novel materials and components for use in hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyser systems later joining EDF Energy to develop large scale decentralised energy generation schemes. Since joining EDF Energy Dan has held a number of management positions and is currently responsible for the research and development of future energy systems and technologies such as Smart Cities, Smart Grids, Smart Businesses, Smart Metering, Connected Homes, Low Carbon Transport and Energy Storage for the UK market. Previously Dan has been responsible for the delivery of Energy Performance Contracts (EnPC), the design and construction of on-site renewable generation assets and energy/ engineering consultancy for UK industrial and commercial clients and the development of residential microgeneration products for EDF Energy.Head of R&D | Smart Customers @ The R&D UK Centre was established in order to support EDF Energy and the wider UK energy industry in the development of new energy systems, infrastructure, technologies and commercial offerings.
