digital coder meets digital interactive artist. Currently exploring gaming, game theory and interactive narrative during my fellowship at MIT.
My extended adventure into new media has enabled me to hone my development skills towards the "bleeding edge": computer vision, VR, NLP, digital video and audio manipulation. I enjoy pushing interactive experiences beyond web interactivity into the world of 3D and immersive technology.
Skillset:
HTML5, Three.js, WebGL, WebRTC, CSS3, JQuery, Javascript, AJAX, Node.js, Browserify, XML, JSON,PHP,JSP, some Python,MySQL, Flash/Flex, Java, any web development really, CMS, videography, production. Final Cut Pro, Processing, familiarity with Popcorn.js, objective C.
C++/openFrameworks, computer vision,
Research Fellow, Open Doc Lab @ currently on hold with StoryBot, a digital family archive creation tool
The Dollhouse/Narratopia is on deck and I am exploring game design as a means to tell personal stories in a 3d online space. From February 2015 to Present (11 months) Web Developer/ Data Visualization Consultant @ Goal: Flex and Actionscript application need porting to an AngularJS or Polymer framework. Learn the product, then migrate it. From August 2014 to March 2015 (8 months) Presenting artist @ From October 2014 to October 2014 (1 month) Creative web developer/data vis consultant @ • Create a d3 and jQuery plugin to provide an interactive data visualization and project management tool. This visualization and planning tool is in great demand for Novartis employees who conduct and manage thousands of research projects and activities. HTML 5, SVG, javascript, D3, AJAX, JSON, JQuery, lodash.js, Node.js, Backbone.js. From November 2013 to August 2014 (10 months) New Media Technologist @ The BCM asked me to develop a gestural interactive installation in which participants can "conduct" the Boston Symphony Orchestra by waving their hands. The original code had gone missing, and they wanted to bring the exhibit back to life.
Gestural interactive installations using the XBox Kinect, openFrameworks, Maximillan library, C++ etc From June 2013 to November 2013 (6 months) Greater Boston AreaNew Media Consultant @ Designed and developed interactive exhibits for museums and related clients.
I most recently developed a large-scale interactive floor projection for NASA Glenn in Cleveland Ohio. C++/openFrameworks, XBox Kinect, ceiling mounted projection. You can view the video below.
The other installation was Health Happens Here exhibit for the State of California Museum. This project was entitled “State of Health”, and would determine the child’s longevity based on his or her zipcode. This was written in Flash CS5.5 as an AIR installation using CSS3 stylesheets. After a series of questions, the child’s photo was uploaded to a giant montage of children’s faces in the shape of the state of California. This was accomplished through the usual event driven model sending JSON packets asynchronously through a few dedicated ServerSockets. Once the picture was received, I programmatically modified the matrix filters and tweened the chroma of the pictures in a pleasing and aesthetic way. From June 2012 to May 2013 (1 year) Masters in Dynamic Media @ Completed a masters degree at the Dynamic Media Institute. I designed and implemented a number of prototypes not constrained to iOS, OpenGL, Actionscript 3, big data, page-scraping, data visualization, some WebGL, responsive design, openFrameworks, C++, XBox Kinect, interaction design and analysis.... design + technology = cool stuff From September 2010 to May 2013 (2 years 9 months) Web Consultant @ At Isobar, I was responsible for coding the social media aspect of the Adidas MiCoach website. MiCoach is the Adidas social website that enables individuals to compare his or her workout with those of others in a “leaderboard” fashion. Maintaining the site was a true challenge for all of development - their legacy website was written in Flash, the newer half of it in HTML4 with some HTML5 thrown in (and the HTML5 shim was only loaded in certain places) and CSS3 (implementing responsive design supplied by the grid model from Foundation.com). I co-authored and augmented various javascript and JQuery modules (a workout report data module) as well as updated the Jive HTML and CSS code and templates in order to update a large number of pages, although given the framework, no substantial upgrade could be tested quickly. I did lead the JQuery 1.5 upgrade for the newer pages (primarily for the AJAX/JSONP transport Deferred object handlers). The Jive platform (made up of Java and Freemarker template CMS) was headquarted in Germany and they were on hand to upgrade their own custom various Javascript widgets for additional implementation. International co-authored web development is challenging at best…. From August 2011 to April 2012 (9 months) Greater Boston AreaWeb Consultant @ Branding updates to current financial website packages From June 2011 to August 2011 (3 months) Freelance Web Developer @ Brand Content asked me to develop a mobile web app in order to attract Monster with a snazzy little demo website for one of their fledgling products “SeeMore.” I coded this cross-browser ‘demo’ using HTML5 CSS3 and javascript. I built it to run on the iOS4 ipad- it still works 3 years later except for the video, which now obviously would need a mp4, ogg video update. The IE portion is in a separate file but the CSS and the javascript were wrapped into the HTML file upon the request of the producer at Brand. Normally I would of course have them decoupled from each other.

BioGen’s original website for their flavor of the 'EpiPen' had been created in Flash with images rather than CSS, so when the need came to translate their product into 10 additional languages, they hired me to make that happen. I wrote 70+pages in Actionscript 3 and used CSS to drive the locale.
