Chris is a Partner at The Working Group, a web and mobile development agency in Toronto, and has helped to bring Startup Weekend to Canada, running some of the biggest events amongst the global Startup Weekend community. He's a product manager and tech entrepreneur. Chris has worked for 13 years in software, with startups and larger organizations focused on Business Intelligence and Performance Management technologies. His career has taken him all over the world and allowed him to live and work in San Francisco and London as well as Toronto which he currently calls home. Chris holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and sometimes gets teased about it by his techie friends and colleagues.
Managing Partner @ As a Managing Partner at TWG, Chris works with the team to develop and execute strategy, perform business development activities and provide overall leadership and management direction along with the other partners to the entire TWG team.
Since 2002, TWG has designed and built web sites, web applications, mobile apps, and system integrations for entrepreneurs, mature businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations.
TWG provides value based development and has worked hard to shape a culture that produces great results for clients, by keeping things flexible, collaborative, and focused on delivering the highest value work first. TWG offers thoughtful, realistic and valuable options to clients, not pie in the sky dreams that won’t deliver benefits.
Much of TWG's cultural growth over the past few years comes from the research into, and implementation of Agile practices in creating software. The team has embraced Agile Software Development techniques, and regularly revisit processes to refine and improve.
The team like to use Ruby on Rails as a web development framework because it offers superior testing and debugging tools, deployment management, extensive and growing libraries of open source code, as well as proven measures to maintain high security on your website and applications.
