A recent graduate of Colby College, I am excited to pursue a career in marketing/communications. Specifically, I am interested in strategic communications/ public relations and digital marketing. I am currently working at the Consumer Electronics Association as a marketing intern focused on international-facing campaigns. As an undergraduate, I was an assistant in the Colby College Office of Communications. During the summer of 2014, I was a social media marketing and communications intern at a financial technology startup. Before that, I interned at the Library of Congress and spent several summers working at a summer camp.
I have strong written communication skills and experience creating targeted and engaging content for social media platforms, blogs, print publications, and email campaigns. I have superior research and analytical skills and am able to communicate top-line messages and produce concise, actionable reports. My interpersonal communication skills allow me to communicate ideas with confidence and make substantial contributions as a member of a team. Further, I am detail-oriented and am comfortable handling multiple projects while honoring deadlines. I apply the same diligent work ethic to assignments large and small and am able to work well under pressure.
I have used a number of marketing and communications analytics platforms including Google Analytics, WebTrends and HootSuite. I can translate quantitative analytical data into plans for blog or social media content, brand strategy, and press releases. In addition, I am proficient in STATA, HTML (Dreamweaver) and Excel. For instance, I used STATA to perform quantitative analysis for a political science research project on authoritarian breakdown in petrostates in the Middle East. I also completed a practicum on policy advocacy, a seminar on campaign strategy and an independent research project on the role of media and propaganda in politics.
