Development Lead @ From January 2013 to Present (3 years) Consultant - Virgin Hotels @ Consultant for Development and Construction. Involved with all aspects of Development and Project Management of current and new Virgin Hotel opportunities. From May 2012 to December 2012 (8 months) Greater New York City AreaConsultant @ •Worked with Owners on a lifestyle mixed-use opportunity in Upstate New York. The Project includes Renovation and Expansion of a dead mall, multiple Hotels and a Conference Center, Residential Towers, Performing Arts and multiple Parking Structures.
•Worked with Owners on two hotel-casino opportunities in (1) Palm Springs, CA and (2) Reno, NV. Work includes cost, schedule and logistic planning and review.
•Prepared Development costs, schedule and due diligence for a purchase of a Hotel and Conference Center in Snowmass, Colorado. From 2011 to April 2012 (1 year) Executive Vice President of Development @ Executive Vice President of Development in charge of the recently completed $800M expansion and renovation to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Responsible for all aspects of the 26 acre Project which included two new guestroom towers (one tower is an “all suite” tower), 30,000 sf of new casino, “The Joint” – a 4200 person entertainment facility, 60,000 sf of meeting space, 2.3 acres of new pool area, 1500 car Parking Garage, Central Plant and renovation of the existing property. Work includes tenant improvement buildout of the Spa/Salon, Food & Beverage outlets, retail outlets, “Vanity” Night Club, Penthouses and Pool Suites. The Project was executed with a staff of 21 people working closely with hotel operations and the Joint Venture partners. The Project finished 9% below budget and portions of the Project were completed 2 months ahead of schedule.
Also responsible for development of Hard Rock Hotel’s Intellectual Property which includes franchise, management and development opportunities associated with the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas Brand. From November 2007 to 2010 (3 years) Vice President - Architecture, Design and Construction - W Hotels, St. Regis & Luxury Collection @ In charge of Architecture, Design and Construction for W Hotels, Luxury Collection and St. Regis. Tasked with building an architectural, design and construction team to provide Global management and support for new Development Projects. Concurrently involved with managing and supporting 50 Projects in various stages of Development plus working on an additional 50 Projects in the pipeline (pre-execution stage). Project types include Hotel, Residential, Condo-Hotel, Mixed-use, New Builds and Conversions; Projects were Owned, Invested or Managed.
Involvement includes working closely with Starwood deal leads, Brand and Operations, 3rd Party Operators (i.e. Jeans Georges and Blissworld), engaging Owners and Developers to establish project expectations for design, cost and delivery. Internally worked to establish team resources via enhanced Estimating, Residential capabilities and protocols; refining processes & standards while providing team guidance and direction. Head of design execution and construction of the One Beacon Court Residential Project (a component of the entire 731 Lexington mixed use development – corporate headquarters for Bloomberg), responsible for overseeing development and construction of the Residential Sales Office, Residential Lobby and Condos. Involved with every aspect of the Project including supporting the Sales Staff, Purchaser negotiations, guidance of the consultants and daily interaction with Construction Manager. Particular emphasis on high-quality materials and cutting-edge technologies.
