As a seasoned hospitality professional I have held numerous roles within the amusement industry and as a restaurant owner/operator. Though I have had many responsibilities over the years, my passion has always been about our team members and employees. Whether it was during orientation, while instilling the organizations culture, values and mission, or growing and developing our leadership staff to the upper echelon of emotionally intelligent and passion driven leaders, it's been all about them. The reason for this is simple. If your team members can't understand or relate to what you're trying to accomplish, then service suffers. But, more importantly, if your leaders can't understand or relate to those they are leading then, not only does service suffer, but morale falls by the wayside too.
In my most recent role, I managed and scheduled a Ride department with 150+ front line team members, supervisors, managers and operations coordinators. I created and presented our orientations to 500+ team members each year. I was part of the team that oversaw our 70+ J-1 work and travel participants and have traveled all over the world to international Job Fairs. I coordinated and oversaw our local job fair and our employee center.
Upon resigning from my position I was presented with an award for "Appreciation of your many years of outstanding contributions and dedication in offering invaluable leadership." I was also honored with having the "Benjamin E Santos-Rogers Team Member Excellence Award" named after myself.
I have a Bachelor’s in Business from Husson University; I'm an AIMS certified Level II Operations Technician, iROC Amusement Ride and Device instructor and faculty member, and a participant of the IAAPA Institute for Emerging Leaders. I currently sit on the Board of Directors for the New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (NEAAPA) and I have been a past speaker at both the IAAPA Attractions Expo (2) and the NEAAPA Annual Meeting (3).
