Mechanical Design Engineer @ From June 2011 to Present (4 years 7 months) Foundry Tooling Designer/CNC Programmer and Operator @ Utilize Solidworks, Visual CAM and Fadal 3-Axis CNC machine to produce high quality patterns and tooling for use in the metal casting industry.
Responsible for machining of custom plastic and metal parts. From January 2008 to June 2011 (3 years 6 months) Project Manager @ Work directly with clients to determine the best casting method based on design, application and budget.
Worked with domestic and foreign vendors to manage casting projects from quote to delivery.
Research and develop new technologies such as rapid prototyping, CNC and new ceramic materials to evaluate possible uses within the metal casting industry. From January 2006 to January 2008 (2 years 1 month) Mechanical Designer @ Teamed with senior engineer and lead machinist to develop intake manifold, intake discharge, mass air flow housing and water crossover for 2006 Ford Mustang supercharger kit.
Produced CAD models of components and assemblies using Solidworks.
Designed foundry tooling including core boxes and SLA patterns for match plates. From March 2005 to September 2005 (7 months) Mechanical Designer @ Designed plastic enclosure for wifi remote.
Designed method for mounting and securing LCD panel.
Designed method for mounting and securing circuit card.
Produced CAD models in Solidworks of four plastic/rubber parts including a display window, cover piece, base piece, and button panel. Over moulding techniques were used to manufacture a plastic/rubber button panel. From September 2004 to February 2005 (6 months) Industrial Designer @ Design and engineering of display/computer housings and sheet metal stands for a wireless internet kiosks.
Produced CAD models and documentation for use in manufacturing using Solidworks. From January 2002 to June 2004 (2 years 6 months) Mechanical Designer @ Worked on many projects developing electronic card swipe attachments for Palm, Compaq and other handhelds.
Designed plastic housings to secure various electronic components.
Designed methods of attaching assemblies to existing electronic components. From February 2000 to March 2002 (2 years 2 months) Contract Junior Engineer (6 months) @ Audited previously installed fiber optic cable system using a combination of construction documents and investigation to produce a detailed schematic diagram for San Diego County's entire fiber optic network. From March 1999 to September 1999 (7 months) Drafter/Designer @ Worked with lead engineers to produce diagrammatic mechanical drawings for use in installation of commercial HVAC systems.
