Bill Wheeler was born in San Francisco and has lived in the Bay Area his entire life. He is President & CEO of Black Tie Transportation and entrepreneur of several successful business ventures. He zealously founded Black Tie Transportation in 1986 with the purchase of one vehicle and the philosophy of truly caring about the customer. Today Black Tie provides executive chauffeured service to every major city in the U.S. and Worldwide to its retained, loyal client base including many Fortune 500 companies. With a combined fleet of 100 vehicles and operational resources, Black Tie ranks as the largest privately held ground transportation provider in the Bay Area and one of the top 50 livery companies in the U.S.
Over the years Bill has been a strong supporter of many local non-profit organizations such as Pleasanton Partners in Education, Animal Rescue Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In addition, he regularly donates a school bus for use by local East Bay schools for field trips and summer camp outings. He is past President of Pleasanton North Rotary and has been involved in many fundraising campaigns to raise money to be distributed to many different organizations in the area.
In addition to giving back to his local community, Bill has been actively involved with global initiatives such as the Wheelchair Foundation. He has helped raise funds to purchase and deliver wheelchairs around the world. He has personally helped deliver thousands of wheelchairs throughout Latin America providing mobility and the opportunity for a better life to many deserving people. It has become his life passion to raise awareness about those in need and to educate others about how easily they can change the lives of not only the recipients, but of their caretakers as well.
