Principal Engineering Manager @ Microsoft Commerce Platform - Global Payments
Manage team and engineer many services in Global Payments team for all Microsoft cloud services. These services have a huge global footprint and process millions of transactions daily with loads growing linearly as Microsoft transitions to a Cloud first company. This is the core platform to pay for all Microsoft services - XBOX Live (One, 360), www.microsoftstore.com, Office 365, Azure subscription, App purchase in Windows Phone, Win 10 store etc.
Launched many successful V1 services (from initial requirements to market launch) & have experience in running mature services (stabilizing & tactical improvements to run them healthy.)
Services engineering experience - capacity planning, hardware, network/topology setup, security (certificates, key management), system design/architecture, planning, coding, testing, deployment, scale testing, production readiness, service health dashboards, telemetry, monitoring/alerting, data center failover testing/strategy, dealing with live site incidents, on-call rotations, holiday traffic readiness/planning etc.
Leadership experience - Drive business/service road map (MVP to full feature set). Collaborate with legal, business, marketing, compliance for PCI & Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). Collaborate with payment network/issuers (MC, China Union Pay, CapOne etc.) to influence their business & design. Experience with MTL (money transmission license), EMV standards and etc.

- Payments management : CC, Paypal, Mobile carrier, SEPA/DD, AliPay, Boleto, iDEAL, Bitcoin, redirect based, vNext Wallet.
- Microsoft stored value/gift card services (digital/paper gift card, token redemption, funding, charge, refund, regulatory issues) in 41 countries.
- Bitcoin funding service
- Token services :~800M tokens used across all products - Office, Azure, XBOX, Windows. Ingestion services, activation, de-activation, redemption, blacklisting, financial recognition. From August 2013 to Present (2 years 5 months)
