AppyParking is creating a Content Management System that understands every possible rule, restriction and tariff from the fragmented world of the public and private parking sector. In short we’re supplying the world’s first standardised parking data set and search engine. Automated parking is already a reality and driverless are certainly the future. It’s AppyParking's mission to fill the missing piece of the jigsaw and tell the cars where they can and can’t park. Available as an API or Mobile Application, AppyParking not only benefits B2C drivers but saves B2B with mobile fleets millions in parking fines while increasing productivity. From January 2015 to Present (1 year) London, United KingdomAdvisory Board Member @ TaDaweb is a web data acquisition and transformation platform which enables the reprogramming of the Internet through the connection of (previously) disparate online data. Contributions include product development, market strategy and partnering. From September 2014 to Present (1 year 4 months) CEO in Residence @ In April 2013 I had the real privilege to be part of the announcement that Microsoft was launching a Start-up Venture arm called Microsoft Ventures at Microsoft Build in San Francisco. There was one sole purpose and that was to help start-ups around the world build successful companies using the expertise of Microsoft and its partners. In September 2013 I founded the 1st Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in the UK where we ran a pilot for 5 companies that covered social technology to indie gaming, which was a massive success and allowed me then to run out the 1st official cohort of start-ups. In February 2014 I was delighted to bring the 1st official cohort of 15 start-ups to our new space in Whitechapel, Central Working to start their 12 week program which would cover everything from legal, financial and technical support. At the end of the 1st official cohort it was obvious that Microsoft Ventures UK was making a huge impact for Microsoft so they gave me the amazing role of CEO in Residence, with the remit to manage all things Microsoft Ventures in the UK. Within the role of CEO in Residence it does not just involve making the UK Accelerator a success for Microsoft but building out relationships for Microsoft within the start-up eco-system. Since taking on the post I have secured partnerships with other accelerators, working directly with UK government to support activities, working in partnerships with other large commercial companies and helping steer the corporate venture community within this new eco-system growing in the UK. Microsoft Ventures UK’s new cohort starts in March 2015 and if you are looking to find out more about the amazing impact Microsoft Ventures UK is making in the start-up space, please visit http://www.microsoftventures.com/accelerators/london. From July 2013 to June 2015 (2 years) London, United KingdomTECHNICAL DIRECTOR @ What an exciting and challenging role I have been given as my 1st introduction to the corporate global world of technology. I get the chance to work with and influence every technical aspect of Microsoft which can be from Xbox One, Azure, Windows Phone and Windows 8.1. This can include working with teams that are directly responsible for the development of the technology to the side of Microsoft that tell the world it exists and why the world should be adopting the Microsoft platform. Some of the key areas that I focus on are to influence the evangelism priorities for the market or geography and identify the high-priority goals for the team. Also to increase the overall impact of the team by optimizing talent and resources to achieve the greatest influence with the most important audiences. From December 2012 to July 2014 (1 year 8 months) Reading, United KingdomMOBILE & CLOUD NINJA @ Since leaving university my whole life has been about building start-ups, which has involved everything from team building, financial planning and product development to global marketing. With this knowledge of what is needed to build a global success I have been invited to engage with certain start-ups to work with them on achieving their full potential. Examples of the key start-ups that I am engaged with are ReTrak.org, which is a charity that helps support street children in Africa. This appeals to both my techie side and my sense of adventure. I am designing and developing the cloud based system to manage all the details of the children, including the engagement with ReTrak.org. Thanks to ReTrak.org I have even been able to travel to Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia to work directly with the organizations IT department and to train the users of the system. Another great example is Scaboodle.com, which is a social engaging mobile/cloud system that has currently over 1.7 million users. Here I was able to work directly with the CEO/founder to restructure the team and mould the product offering for a more global audience. This has been a very positive engagement and Scaboodle.com has now major partnerships with it being currently used by some of the largest industry users from UK to Silicon Valley. From November 2012 to June 2014 (1 year 8 months) FOUNDER & CTO @ We create category defining, customer focused, game-changing technology. The team has a wealth of experience from research backgrounds to successful start-ups. Some of our technical team members have been responsible for a number of breakthroughs in mobile technology, which is pretty exciting. The first product from JamPot is TheAppBuilder.com. We have grabbed the opportunity to create a platform that allows people to build their own apps and bypass the need for developers and huge build fees. We’ve made it super easy for everyone to use having no code or technical knowledge. Amazingly, people can create their own mobile app on any cloud-enabled device for app stores and HTML 5. What’s even better is that their audience can view the app on any device, too. Pretty neat, huh? As inventors, it’s exciting for us to tell people that we’ve invented an app that allows people to create their own apps. Now we’re all inventors. Invent something, it feels really good! From November 2010 to December 2012 (2 years 2 months) FOUNDER & CTO @ Effective communication is everything. Whether you’re in business, charity, education or the public sector, getting your message across to customers, visitors and employees powerfully and effectively is becoming more and more important. SpeechBubble is a simple presentation tool for creating and presenting your choice of message to single or multi-language groups, enabling you to use text in one or more languages, incorporate rich media images, soundtrack, voiceover and video. In a global marketplace and culture, reaching across language barriers is more necessary than ever. Doing this effectively makes a big difference for converted sales, safe workers and well-informed visitors. SpeechBubble offers an easy way to achieve this and informs, trains, teaches and communicates easily. We’re always at hand to provide pointers and help you create the tool you need. From January 2005 to November 2010 (5 years 11 months) SENIOR DEVELOPER / TEAM LEAD @ During and after University I worked within the IT sector as a consultant for many industry leaders such as Endemol, Visa, Nokia and Microsoft within Ireland, the UK and Middle East. Throughout this time I had the privilege to work as lead developer and program manager, employing technologies ranging from mobile, client/server and web to hardware communications. As well as working with some of the industries leaders I made sure to take what spare time I had to build out my own projects which later became my founding companies.
