Strategic Sourcing Specialist @ Responsible for defining and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives of $123,000,000 in direct products to build cell sites within the United States. Managed supplier qualification and selection process, RFx procedures, negotiations, contracts. Implemented supplier scorecards, forecasts and overall communication. Within the first year, direct savings was $5,000,000 by consolidations and negotiations within the supply base.

Currently work with Oracle and AS400 systems. From January 2010 to February 2012 (2 years 2 months) Purchasing Contractor @ Sourced Alternators and Starters for School Buses by online auctions. Finished various other commodities for contractors who's contract was finished before mine. Saved 19% cost savings and received extended payment terms and inventory reductions. Reported to the VP of Purchasing and was responsible for strategic cost savings to leverage spend for all 9 LSI sites within given commodity. Commodity spend total was approximately $17.4 Million per year. Commodities included travel service, temporary labor service, MRO, gaskets, glass and plastic lenses, electrical components and aluminum and plastic louvers. I gave quarterly presentations to purchasing team in all locations via video-conferencing. Presentations given to executive board for review of all recommendations.
Travel – consolidated 5 travel service providers to 1 for all sites; implemented new travel policy; reduced booking fees by 10% full-service and 50% on-line bookings
Plastic Lenses - $460,000 and 60 parts quoted - $99,000 yearly savings or 22%; also reduced MIN order quantities. Also negotiated a 1% rebate back on all spend for certain suppliers
Louvers – one supplier with financial difficulty moved all parts to 2 other current suppliers to eliminate potential supply issues.
Safety supplies - $300,000 spend identified with 14 suppliers – consolidated to 1 national supplier and reduced piece pricing 20%. Also, started consignment and vendor managed supply for 4 higher volume sites. Leveraged spend for better pricing in lower spend sites. From January 2008 to April 2009 (1 year 4 months) Purchasing Assistant Manager @ Assistant Purchasing Manager – Managed 5 various purchasing employees
Reported to the Purchasing Manager and was responsible for VA/VE cost reductions. Was hired as a Purchasing Agent and promoted to Assistant Purchasing Manager 18 months after being hired. When a purchasing person left the company we all pitched in and split the commodities up between us. While continuing on VA/VE projects, I started to purchase raw material such as Aluminum Ingot; Powder Paint; Small Materials such as Grease, etc.
Cost Initiative letters sent to suppliers to leverage upcoming volume increases and received as much as 25% cost saving on parts.
Resourced parts from Japan to the US for shorter lead-times and lower costs of 15%
Identified a local source for thru-bolts and current supplier in Japan lowered their cost 35% to keep current business From March 2006 to January 2008 (1 year 11 months) OE Buyer @ OE Buyer – worked on M-Class program and various commodities
Reported to the Purchasing Manager and was responsible for implementing cost reductions for the M-Class platform. Commodities that I was strategically aligned with were machined parts, rubber over metal, plastic parts and bearings.

Strategically managed commodities with a spend of $39 Million per year. Was part of Emerson Plastics Team to implement cost savings for various divisions of Emerson. Purchased oil, rubber, bearings and plastic parts. Leveraged spend for other Emerson divisions with small spend to obtain cost savings. Used reverse auctions as a tool to get an average of 20% cost savings over all my commodities. Sourced to new suppliers as well as consolidated suppliers for savings. Prepared, analyzed RFQ’s, negotiated pricing for parts and tools and procured funding for capital expenditures. Conducted supplier audits prior to sourcing any new parts or transferring tools. Worked with Quality for PPAP submittals for all parts. Presentations given to upper management regarding strategic planning of commodities.
Bearings - $5 Million in spend – received 30% savings or $1.5 Million by staying with incumbent and not having to spend time re-qualifying a new supplier with down pricing for years 2 and 3 of 2%/year
Injection Molded Plastic Parts – received 25% savings on $7 Million in spend by consolidating 3 suppliers to 1 current supplier
Oil – $4 Million in spend – received 16% cost savings per year.
Powder Paint - $2 Million in spend – 19% cost savings – stayed with incumbent From October 1988 to March 2005 (16 years 6 months)
