I am a highly motivated person that has had the opportunity to work with many of the industry leaders in my time with FLSmidth and learn from their expertise in just about every field of minerals processing. I work best under pressure and have proven myself to be resourceful and self sufficient in all the projects I have been involved in.
The minerals industry is in the midst of major changes and it is in these times that I know I will be able to make the most impact by challenging the conventional ways of processing minerals and coming up with new, innovative processes to improve efficiency and maximise production.
Metallurgist @ From March 2014 to Present (1 year 10 months) Perth, AustraliaJunior Process Engineer @ Responsible for planning & supervision of all large comminution and flotation test work programs as well as being heavily involved with the design of multiple base metal and gold concentrators. With assistance from the rest of the process department I am involved with on-site optimisation projects and test work programs to maximise our clients efficiency and profitability. From September 2012 to November 2013 (1 year 3 months) Johannesburg Area, South AfricaEngineer-in-Training @ Over the course of this training program I passed through most of the departments in FLSmidth. Although my primary focus is process engineering, my initial time was spent with our engineering and site services department working on plant operation and maintenance contracts. After gaining experience I was moved to assist in the management of a large capital project involving a flotation circuit in the DRC. After this I was placed in the process design department and became heavily involved in the design of multiple medium to large Copper,Copper-Gold and Copper-Molybdenum concentrators. Performance in my training resulted in my position being changed to Junior Process engineer 4 months before my stated contract date. From March 2011 to August 2012 (1 year 6 months) Johannesburg Area, South AfricaStudent Engineer @ As part of my required work experience for a degree in Chemical Engineering I was based at Illovo's Potable alcohol plant for a period of 6 weeks.
I was involved with production control as well as smaller optimisation projects. It provided an insight into the chemicals industry and the associated high levels of safety and quality standards necessary for all undertakings. The experience gained in PFD development and HAZOP analysis was beneficial From December 2008 to February 2009 (3 months)
