From January 2011 to April 2011 (4 months) Software Architect @ Software architect responsible for manageability of business client systems. In this role performed end to end SW development. Responsibilities include taking solutions from problem statement, through concept and funding allocation. Developed architecture, working with technical leads to create high level designs. Contributed to code and code reviews. When I started this role, manageability was a competitive weakness for Dell's business client portfolio. Through collaboration with the product management team and an intense focus on customer needs, we defined a competitive offering portfolio. Within 18 months manageability went from being a competitive weakness to leading differentiation for the business client portfolio. This success was achieved through a combination of on-shore and off-shore in-house development as well as through strategic partnerships with Symantec, Microsoft, and Intel. Additional responsibilities include: Development of systems management software strategy for business client and enterprise systems portfolio. Performing technical due diligence in support of M&A activities. From March 2008 to January 2011 (2 years 11 months) Software Architect @ Software architect for systems management including leading the development of industry standards and product implementations. From May 2005 to January 2008 (2 years 9 months) System Management Software Engineer @ Lead Engineer responsible for integration of System X and BladeCenter hardware management into the IBM Director system management software application. Tasks included architecture, design, and implementation of console, server, and agent components utilizing multiple proprietary command protocols as well as IPMI to interface with the service processors. The implementation was primarily in Java with some C and C++ components for interfacing with device drivers on each supported OS. Responsibilities included all phases of product development including working with the marketing, test, and planning teams to determine requirements, test plans, and fall plan resources and line items. Developed C and C++ application for managing IBM TB3 switches. Developed standby clustering software for OS/2 and IBM PC Servers utilizing shared external storage.
