Upper Michigan Green Aviation Coalition

We provide a platform for small businesses engaged in research and development, manufacturing, engineering or other related services associated with the aviation industry to interact with each other and OEMs to strengthen the supply chain and companies across Northern Wisconsin and Michigan. The foundation of our organization is based on several niche projects: Sawyer Aero-Tech Dismantling and Recycling at Sawyer International Airport in Marquette, Michigan; Delta Green Aviation and Marine Integrators at Delta County Airport & Renaissance Zone in Escanaba, Michigan; Green Forces at the Houghton County Memorial Airport in Houghton, Michigan; and Twin Services at Twin County Airport in Menominee, MI and Marinette, WI. We are also loosely affiliated with the UAV project in Alpena, MI. Each project capitalizes on the strength of the airport, whether it be size of runway; existing anchor tenants like Enstrom Helicopter, AMR, The Oldenburg Group, GE Aviation; extensive research and engineering capabilities at Michigan Technological University; the workforce development program in precision manufacturing as well as A&P mechanics at Northern Michigan University or the quality of airspace or military presence. Through a collaborative environment, we are able to significantly leverage private and public sector resources to accelerate job growth, commercialization of new technologies and attract investment.
