The Executive Council:
On February 24th, 2003 the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, issued a law establishing The Executive Council of Dubai to support the Ruler by managing the affairs of the emirate.
The Executive Council is a decision-making body for Dubai that aims to strengthen security and order, overlooks the development of providing appropriate utilities and services, and achieving economic and social progress.
The General Secretariat of The Executive Council:
Since its inception, the General Secretariat of the Executive Council was established to carry out a set of functions and tasks aimed at supporting the Executive Council. Specifically, the secretariat focuses on the following:
1. Supporting the Executive Council in developing and approving resolutions, policies, and strategies to fulfil the needs of the emirate, and overseeing and supervising their execution by government bodies.
