St. Joseph Home employs more than 220 caring people who work in nursing, direct care, active treatment, physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, nutrition and psychological services. Our residents enjoy a quality of life that includes attending a Hamilton county special education school or adult workshop, or for our youngest or too medically fragile residents, staying on campus to attend St. Joseph Academy. Families caring for their special needs child at home get a much needed break for rest and recovery by using our Harold C. Schott Respite Center for a short term stay for their child. The respite center comfortably accommodates up to eight guests at a time in the bright, spacious cottage with four semi-private bedrooms. The Home, a non-profit ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, is the only agency in Hamilton County serving non-ambulatory, non-verbal and medically fragile infants, children and adults. Though St. Joseph Home has a strong bond and affiliation with the Catholic mission of the Sisters of Charity, we welcome families of all faiths.
