As of 2017, Mel Cotton's Sporting Goods has closed.Mel Cotton's Sporting Goods roots began in Santa Clara County, long before the area became synonymous with Silicon Valley, at a time when the majority of real estate housed orchards not corporations. Perceiving the rapidly growing market of outdoor recreational enthusiasts, Mel Cotton established his business in 1946.Mel Cotton's is a household name in Northern California where we successfully maintain our 60-year old reputation as a leading outdoor specialist. We are pleased to offer our award winning merchandise experience (1993 national Sporting Goods Association "Retailer of the Year Award") and retail philosophy to the community of the south Bay Area.We have inventories of over 1000 brand name vendor lines, ranging in outdoor activities from backpacking to camping; skiing to snowboarding; freshwater to salt water fishing; athletic shoes to hiking boots; athletics to water sports; plus notably one of the most extensive outdoor apparel selections for fashion and function available.Mel Cotton's continued strength remains in our focus on customer service and strong product knowledge.
