Loci Controls optimizes gas collection at landfills through their continuous monitoring and automatic controlled device called WellWatcher. Landfills emit harmful greenhouse gases such as methane and carbon dioxide and they are required by the EPA to collect these gases in order to prevent them from reaching the atmosphere. As a result, many landfills now have landfill gas to energy (LFG-E) projects in order to convert the extracted methane into renewable energy. Through their automatic control, Loci is able to help landfills optimize the amount of methane extracted through wellhead adjustments. Additionally they are able to continuously monitor at landfills for gas quality and well pressure, and are also able to help landfills control for odors. With full market saturation, Loci would enable landfills to produce enough additional renewable energy to power over 350,000 homes annually.
