Indiana Health Centers, Inc.

Indiana Health Centers, Inc. provides consumer-driven health and health-related services. We are a private, non-profit 501c3 charitable organization established to help all in need with primary health and health-related services. IHC’s governing board has a majority of IHC clients, representing WIC, Migrant, Homeless, and Community Client populations. Indiana Health Centers, Inc. began health center services in 1977 and is a long standing Bureau Primary Health Care Cluster grantee. IHC receives and implements community, migrant and homeless health center funding. In addition, IHC meets or exceeds all Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) performance criteria. IHC enjoys multiple state funding opportunities. These include hosting the second largest Women Infants Children (WIC) program in the state, receiving state health center funding, and receiving state funding for farm worker support services. This funding diversity comes from IHC's strong focus on improving health outcomes for target populations and successful funding campaigns to address local health and health related issues. IHC targets three distinct population groups. One is agricultural workers in the state of Indiana. A second is low-income residents of St. Joseph, Howard, Cass, Grant, and Jackson Counties. (In 2009, IHC opened a new access point health center with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds in Miami County, a rural area.) And the third is homeless persons in the city of South Bend.
