The Imperial Group, strategically located in Chicago, got its start in the scrap metal industry with a small family-owned industrial recycling company in 1962. Over the last 30 years, the Imperial Group has expanded into complimentary areas of the business.In 1995 the group purchased Imperial Zinc Corporation, a leading manufacturer of zinc anodes and alloys. More recently, it expanded its operations into aluminum with the purchase of two secondary aluminum smelters which operate under the Imperial Aluminum name. The group has also purchased Kormet Metals, an aluminum brokerage business supplying various mills. The Imperial Group has expanded its scrap group with the purchase of Exeon Processors. Later on, it expanded its manufacturing group with the purchase of Mayco Industries, the largest lead fabricator in the United States.Imperial Group provides all of the services our individual companies offer, as well as unique services that combine the capabilities of our companies. Imperial Group is one of the largest scrap metal recycling companies with various programs tailored for many different companies and industries.Imperial Group buys and sells the largest variety of material in the industry.
