Engage is the lead advocacy and training network for gallery education.
We support arts educators, organisations and artists to work together with communities in dynamic, open exchanges that give everyone the opportunity to learn and benefit from the arts.
Engage supports members in many ways - working to influence policy in the visual arts, to raise the profile of the profession within and outside the sector, and secure resources for gallery and visual arts education.
Engage champions diverse education practice, with programmes such as the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award Residency and Commission; Children's Art Week, and Generation ART: Young Artists on Tour, all of which promote learning through artworks, artists, museums and galleries.
Engage supports the progression of members from early career to positions of leadership within the sector through a comprehensive programme of professional development, including the annual International Conference, open to all working in the sector; Summer School - a fantastic opportunity for mid-career professionals to share practice, and the Extend Leadership Programme, open to educational professionals working across all artforms. Engage also runs the Marsh Awards for Excellence in Gallery Education, an opportunity for colleagues to nominate co-workers for their dedication to their profession, and to recognise and highlight excellent practice.
Through Area Group Meetings engage provides a platform for colleagues to network and share ideas, and the Engage website is a central source of news, opportunities and provides access to toolkits and the twice-yearly Engage Journal.
Membership starts at £34 per annum, with options for organisations and concessions available for students, recent graduates, unemployed, over 60s and disabled people. To learn more visit www.engage.org
