Donaldson's

Donaldson's is Scotland's national residential and day school, providing education, therapy and care for pupils who are deaf or have communication difficulties. We are a Grant Aided Special School supported by the Scottish Government and The Governors of Donaldson Trust is a registered charity (SC017417). Donaldson's also offers a fantastic venue for conferences, events and sporting activities. Based centrally within Linlithgow, the campus is easily accessed by the major motorways and has rail links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Because we are a registered charity all money raised from the hiring of our facilities goes back into the education, therapy and care of our pupils. We operate in a happy, friendly, stimulating environment, where children feel safe, secure and valued. The design of the school building including its layout and colour coding supports this aim. Throughout the school the very latest technologies are used to provide the best possible methods of communication to meet individual needs, including spoken and written English, British Sign Language (BSL) and Signed Supported English (SSE). Our team of specialist teachers and therapists work cooperatively with every pupil preparing Individual Education Plans and communication profiles to ensure optimum support for the individual. We believe education is more than just exams.
