In 1983, a Colorado River guide sought a simple way to keep his sunglasses out of the river. Through this innovative idea the Original Cotton Chum was born. Thirty-five years later, Chums is now a global brand that offers a wide range of outdoor accessories and gear. Chums’ mantra is simple: provide fun, quality products to enjoy while at work or play. Chums: Helping You Hang On Since 1983. 2018 marks Chums'​ 35th anniversary, and we choose to pay it forward and create a platform dedicated to inspiring involvement in your local waterways and giving back through our partnership with American Rivers. Together, we will work to educate friends and consumers about the importance of wild and free flowing rivers, and preservation of waterways for public recreation. Chums’ partnership and efforts will support the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Act and American Rivers'​ 5000 Miles of Wild Campaign.
