Cathedral Home for Children

Cathedral Home for Children (CHC) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization located primarily in Laramie, Wyoming. Beginning as an orphanage in 1910 through the auspices of the Episcopal Church of Wyoming, CHC's mission is to restore hope, strengthen relationships, and build futures for youth and families Today, CHC offers a comprehensive spectrum of supports and services ranging from community prevention programs, residential placement, education, and transitioning youth back into society. Through CHC's Community Prevention programs, relevant resources are offered to help resolve issues within the family; giving them tools and skills to work together as a functioning unit. Our Community Prevention programs include the Laramie Youth Crisis Center, Carbon County Youth Crisis Center, Albany County Expelled and Suspended Students (A.C.E.S.), and Extended Families programs. CHC also offers a residential treatment program, located just north of Laramie, that provides youth in need of trauma informed care, a combination of therapeutic, educational, and clinical services in a group care setting. We provide mental health treatment and therapeutic opportunities to individuals who are between 12-18 years of age. CHC’s residential treatment campus includes five residential cottages, an on-sight healthcare center, an education center, equine arena, and a chapel. The central principle through which care is delivered is the importance of building relationships. We are devoted to restoring hope, strengthening relationships, and building futures.
