ABOUT THE CAED
With more than 1,900 students, Cal Poly’s acclaimed College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) offers a unique blend of eight-degree programs in five closely related departments: architectural engineering, architecture, city and regional planning, construction management, and landscape architecture. For more than 70 years, the CAED programs and 16,000 alumni have been a positive influence on the forces that shape the planning, design and construction worlds.
EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE
CAED programs promote Learn by Doing experiences that allow students to undertake sophisticated projects. All students have the opportunity to collaborate with industrial partners and work across disciplines. They find creative solutions to the real problems faced by industry and our global community. The significant educational benefits are the result of a low student-to-professor ratio and high-quality technological and support facilities.
GLOBAL LEADERS
The curricula within the CAED emphasizes interdisciplinary technical skills, participation in community studies, internships, and work experience programs, structured options to study off campus, instructional access to prominent professionals and sponsored project participation. We prepare students to work globally in innovative teams that are at the leading edge for creating sustainable, compelling surroundings.
