Anacostia Waterfront Corporation

The Anacostia Waterfont Corporation (AWC) was an independent economic development agency, created by the Government of the District of Columbia in 2004, to implement the Anacostia Waterfont initiative, a visionary, 30-year, $10 billion plan to transform the shores of the Anacostia River into a world-class waterfront. In 2007, the functions and responsibilities of the organization were transferred to the Office of the Mayor of the District of Columbia.
