Verhaal is an architecture and interior studio founded in 2016 by Neydine Bak and Dewald Struwig in Sydney, Australia. Bak and Struwig work together with a team of creatives at their Balmain East studio gallery and a global community of makers to create extraordinary hospitality, hotel, retail and residential experiences defined through art, storytelling and collaboration here at home and internationally. Balanced perfection is the Verhaal standard delivering impeccable, tailored service from concept to completion for our clients. Obsessed with texture, pattern and colour Verhaal is synonymous with playful expressions and artisanal and artistic embellishment – a Verhaal space tells a story, beautifully. Sustainability informs our approach and is a focus for our solutions driven studio and for our clients and collaborators. Working with smaller creative studios allows us to give back to our communities and to provide them with a global platform to showcase their work Huis, a home collection created in 2021, is an expression of the Verhaal philosophy – a collection of beautiful objects curated by Neydine and Dewald sharing the stories of their travels.
