Teletalk Bangladesh Limited is the Mobile phone operator in Bangladesh which is operating 2G GSM and 2.5G GPRS/EDGE Tele-services in Bangladesh. It's a Public Limited Company and its capital share is 100% owned by Government of Bangladesh. It has been commercially operating in full fledge since 31 March, 2005. Initially Teletalk has started its journey under the name of BTTB GSM project with the subscriber base of 250K subscriber in 61 districts of the country (except hill tract districts). With managing own funding, Teletalk has expanded its network to 1.2M subscribes and spread its network coverage to all 64 districts of Bangladesh. Principally Teletalk has more emphasized to make its coverage footprint in rural areas of the country in order to ensure socio-economical value enhancement of mass people. Since her inauguration, Teletalk is resolute to provide good quality services at lower cost to the subscribers. Current Government’s vow to build ‘Digital Bangladesh’ has accelerated Teletalk’s actions providing activities more and hence. In this regard, Teletalk is playing and will play affective roles to implement Digital Bangladesh. Teletalk is working as a pioneer to expand network in hill tracts. In addition, Teletalk has ensured the first footprint of any operators to bring three CHT dirstricts under network coverages. Currently Teletalk almost exists everywhere in the CHT districts. Teletalk is working for simplifying Health-service, Cultural Development and Education-information collection. Teletalk subscribers are now getting Health-service, Payment of Telephone Bills, receiving Education Board Examinations’ results etc using their mobile phone; even they can complete application procedure for admission in University.
