About Al-Zour Refinery Project: - The world’s largest grass-root refinery. - Biggest refinery in one stage in world. - Generally, One of the largest 10 refineries in the world. - Producing up to 615,000 barrels per day Kuwait Crudes to produce high value products and fuel oil (5th worldwide) With strategic LSFO storage capacity of 6.5 million barrels -Designed to process Heavy crudes. -The Refinery provides a Hydro-skimming facility which can be upgraded to a full conversion Refinery. -Al-Zour Refinery has six trains of the world’s largest ARDS Units and highly efficient Sulfur Recovery Units with 99.9% recovery. -The Refinery is provided with a multi-point ground flare system designed for low noise and smokeless operation. -An integrated flare gas recovery facility ensures recovery of flared gases to minimize hydrocarbon losses. -Liquid effluents generated from the refinery are treated for maximum reuse with no discharge to the gulf, utilizing Zero Liquid Discharge technology. About Package 1 EPC#1 (0055A) Main Processing Units: The scope of the contract includes: the engineering, supply, construction and commissioning of the following refining units: 3 crude distillation units (210,000 BPSD each), 3 atmospheric residue desulphuration units (110,000 BPSD each), 3 diesel hydrotreating units (62,000 BPSD each), 2 naphtha hyrdrotreating units (18,200 BPSD each), 2 kerosene hydrotreating units (53,000 BPSD each), a saturated gas unit (8,500 BPSD) and a heavy oil cooling unit.
