Established in 1871, the South Australian Cricket Association Inc. (SACA) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations with a reputation for producing world class players through the promotion and development of the game of cricket. The custodian of high performance and grassroots cricket pathways in South Australia, SACA’s key business functions are split into 3 divisions; high performance, game development and business support services. SACA’s high performance department strives to dominate Australian domestic cricket through development of internationally-ready players and officials and competition success. South Australia fields three high performance teams - the West End Redbacks, the Adelaide Strikers and the South Australian Scorpions. Game development has a strong focus on increasing participation in cricket in South Australia and ensuring there are established player pathways. Business support services incorporate all support departments at SACA, including finance, information technology (IT), communications, commercial, strategy and human resources. SACA has over 20,000 members, making it arguably the largest cricket club membership in the world. For all cricketing events held at Adelaide Oval, SACA Members enjoy access to the Adelaide Oval member’s area, featuring member’s bars, dining rooms and the popular Village Green.
