Silicon Valley International School (formerly known as International School of the Peninsula) is the premiere multilingual (Chinese, French, and German) World School on the west coast, and is an authorized International Baccalaureate World School. At INTL, we are ever-evolving --from our founding as a small French bilingual school in 1979 to the addition of our Chinese Program in 1996, to the fall 2020 announcement of the merger with Alto International School - offering the full IB continuum from PYP, MYP, and DP (preschool to 12th grade). At Silicon Valley International School, bilingualism means so much more than speaking another language. Our students become truly bi-literate - expanding their skills to speak, read, listen, and write proficiently in a second language. By being immersed in an international and bicultural setting, our students also develop cross-cultural understanding, which promotes diversity in thinking and a global perspective - a much needed ability in the world today. INTL is a warm and welcoming school that provides a progressive, inquiry-based education under the IB framework. As befits our location in the heart of Silicon Valley, INTL has always valued innovation and change. Beyond offering a dynamic computer science curriculum, tech integration, design thinking, maker-education initiatives, we see innovation as a mindset - honing skills in our students such as creativity, problem-solving, iteration, risk-taking, and flexibility of thinking. INTL accepts students beginning at age 3 for preschool. INTL is also accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the Ministère de l'Education National (French Ministry of Education), National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS).
