Sea Forest Limited is a science-based environmental technology company that is harnessing the power of Australian seaweed to drive sustainable long-term solutions to the challenges of climate change and global food security. Employing world-leading scientific research and cultivation practices, the company is developing and licensing Asparagopsis-based feed supplements for livestock. Sea Forest’s SeaFeed™ supplement is in commercial use with primary producers. The company is also collaborating with major consumer brands to bring products to market and educate consumers. The bioactive compounds in the native red seaweed have been shown to reduce methane emissions in ruminant livestock by up to 98 per cent. The company’s solution is backed by more than 27 peer reviewed studies and is supported by a network of research partnerships with leading universities. Sea Forest is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact on sustainability. Through the nonprofit Sea Forest Foundation, we work with the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies at the University of Tasmania to restore Tasmania’s native giant kelp forests.
