Saudi Aramco Base Oil Company – Luberef is a regional leader in the production of Lubricant base oils. We are the sole producers and suppliers of base oils in Saudi Arabia and export our products to GCC, Asia and North Africa . Luberef is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco (70 %) and Jadwa Industrial Investment Company (30 %). We operate two refineries in Jeddah that started production in 1978 and in Yanbu on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia that started production in 1998. Luberef production includes Group I base oils (aramcoDURA) including bright stock as well as Group II base oils (aramcoPRIMA). In addition, Luberef also produces white products like Drilling Oil, Diesel and Naphtha and other by-products such as Asphalt, Sulphur and Marine heavy fuel oil. Our base oil products are used as raw material for both domestic and international Lubricating blenders to produce a wide variety of finished lubricating oils used in automobiles, heavy commercial vehicles and various machines. Luberef is committed to providing its customers with a comprehensive slate of high quality base oil meeting the latest specifications and has therefore completed a major expansion project in 2017 to produce Group II base oils in Yanbu. This project has transformed Luberef into a regional base oil producer that offers a comprehensive range of base oils promoting our self as a one-stop supplier to customers both domestically and in new markets. Luberef is also an integral part of Saudi Aramco Base Oil Alliance along with Motiva (USA) and S-Oil (South Korea). The Alliance has helped Luberef in catering for the Group III (aramcoULTRA) demand in the regional market and provide a more comprehensive slate to its valued customers.
