Founded in 1996, PUMP is a 501(c) (3) membership organization that serves nearly 25,000 young people in Pittsburgh every year. PUMP’s mission is to make Pittsburgh the most dynamic and diverse place by engaging, educating, and mobilizing all young people to effect change in our community. We envision a Pittsburgh where young people have an active role in advocating and caring for our City, making Pittsburgh the first choice for everyone to live, work, and play.
Our four strategic priorites are:
(1) Diversity & Inclusion - Increase, support, encourage, and celebrate diversity and inclusion in the community.
(2) Education & Employment - Prepare our region's young people to lead in the workplace and the community
(3) Infrastructure & Connectivity - Promote the creation of infrastructure befitting a world-class city and region
(4) Health & Wellness - Inspire young people to lead active, healthy lifestyles
To address these priorities, PUMP offers a diverse array of programming including public policy and advocacy, educational and social networking events, information sharing, and the ever popular Pittsburgh Sports League.
