That is 57 in the Times WUR and 36 in the QS rankings. The Department of Civil Engineering is diverse and dynamic. It encompasses expertise under three research themes Energy, Water & Resources, Resilience, Infrastructure and Society and Monitoring Predicting and Protection. Under these themes, our research and teaching is focussed under seven areas: - Engineering for Extremes - Water Sensitive Urban Design - Smart Structures - Sustainable Infrastructure - Sensing Technologies - Model-Data Fusion - Deep Earth Energy. We aim for global leadership in education and research to equip tomorrow's leaders with the skills to meet the demands of the future.
