Experimenting with stocking fabric in 1992, Melbourne designer Melma Hamersfeld transformed a stretchy piece of material into a bodywear concept that became the Metalicus fashion brand. Metalicus has grown a strong retail presence both offline and online. Today Metalicus has 25 stand-alone stores, 12 Myer Concessions and over 350 Stockists in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada. Each flagship store is innovative and unique in its representation of the clothes on display. The Metalicus woman enjoys dressing in layers, prints, textures and colours. She seeks timeless pieces which can be effortlessly mixed to create endless new looks. This mindset enables Metalicus to become a range of possibilities. From the headquarters in Melbourne Australia, the design team and pattern makers create styles inspired by the properties of quality fabrications such as fine merino wool and organic cotton.
