Kroc School At The University Of San Diego

At the University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, we promote a multifaceted approach to peacebuilding and social justice, integrating theory and practice in the classroom as well as in communities worldwide. We research some of the toughest, most troubling phenomena of our times, producing rigorous and innovative work published in a wide variety of outlets. Students from all over the world are prepared by outstanding faculty who practice what they teach, and gain experience in the field through our Internship Program and the Kroc School award winning institutes - the Institute for Peace and Justice, the Trans-Border Institute, and the Center for Peace and Commerce (the latter in partnership with the School of Business Administration). The Kroc School offers a Master of Arts in Peacebuilding (1-year program) and a Master of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies (2-year program). These programs prepare individuals to work in an extensive variety of organizations, from start-ups to grassroots organizations, from international nonprofits to government agencies and businesses. Below are some of the things that make the Kroc School unique: 1- We are the only graduate school focused on Peace and Justice. 2- Unparalleled location on the edge of border issues - the best place to be for students interested in human rights issues related to border issues and immigration. 3- The only Peace School with dedicated faculty. We don't borrow our professors from the Political Science or Theology departments on campus. Our faculty are 100% dedicated to our school, and they all practice what they teach and are developing research projects in topics related to peace and justice. 4- We offer many opportunities for students to participate in the program's offered by our award winning centers and institutes, giving individuals the opportunity to meet peacemakers, and peace leaders from all over the world.
