Jacari

Jacari is Oxford's oldest student charity and provides 1:1, in-home tutoring for children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL). Volunteers, mainly students from the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes, visit the homes of local children for one hour a week to deliver fun and informal English lessons. In so doing, our volunteers help their pupils reach their full potential and grow in confidence. In addition to our tuition scheme, we also host kids' and volunteer events throughout the year to connect those in our Jacari family with each other as well as the wider Oxford community.
