Established in 1990 from a single branch in Anglesey, North Wales, Huws Gray is now one of the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchants with a turnover of £400m operating from 100 branches covering Wales, the North West of England, Midlands and East Anglia, reaching from Hay-on-Wye in Herefordshire to Penrith in Cumbria and across to Derby in the Midlands to Lowestoft in the far end of Suffolk. Alongside our aim to be the customer’s one-stop shop for everything from below-ground drainage products to roofing materials, we pride ourselves on providing employees with the training, support and opportunities they need to grow and develop as part of our team. We endeavour to develop and encourage our staff, providing and offering opportunities for advancement from within. Last year, Huws Gray bought a Private Equity partner on board in order to accelerate and support our growth through acquisitions in a buy-and-build business model. Working with our Private Equity partner presents a very exciting opportunity for the Huws Gray finance team as we help support the development and growth of the business. Following the acquisition of Cambridge-based Ridgeons Group, we now have a workforce of 1700 colleagues, with rapid expansion plans on the horizon - making this an exciting time to join us.
