Hotham Alpine Resort is the highest ski resort in Victoria and offers a unique winter holiday experience above the snowline. With a multitude of additional activities beyond skiing and snowboarding, stunning views, ski-in/ski-out accommodation and impressive dining, Hotham is the perfect snow holiday destination with its own airport and commercial flights direct from Sydney with QantasLink in Winter. Operationally, Hotham Skiing Company is part of Merlin Entertainments Group. The group includes a number of attractions in Australia and New Zealand including Falls Creek Ski Lifts, WILDLIFE Sydney and Hamilton Island, Sydney Tower Eye, Otway Fly & Treetop Adventures and The Illawarra Fly. Additional to this are attractions in Australia and around the world including SEA LIFE aquariums, Madame Tussauds, Legoland, The London Eye, and Dungeons theme parks. Hotham employs 450 employees in the peak of Winter, down to 25 full-time staff in the Summer months. The key operating departments in Winter months are tickets, guest services, equipment hire (Hotham Sports), retail (Pinnacle stores, Zirky's and Board Box), the Hotham airport, maintenance, grooming, snowmaking, lift operations, snowsports (kids and adults), day care, reservations, property management, sales & marketing and two day spas. Almost all employees are based on-mountain at Hotham, however there is a head office in Melbourne (at the Melbourne Aquarium) that some management and marketing staff use in Summer only.
