Herron High School is a tuition-free public high school in downtown Indianapolis. Offering a classical liberal arts, college preparatory education, Herron High School believes that all students can learn to think logically, express themselves creatively, appreciate aesthetics fully, and approach any subject intelligently. Featuring small class sizes and individualized attention, Herron High School is open to any student in the state. Poised to become a leader in education reform, the school’s unique curriculum and classical approach has earned it the reputation as one of the best schools in the state. Receiving Exemplary standing in the state’s PL221 school accountability program, the school was recognized by the Indiana Department of Education “Supporting Student Success” award for top achievement in Advanced Placement exams, and also one for the most notable rate of growth in AP participation statewide. Listed in Newsweek’s “America’s Best High Schools” report, and as a top ranked school in Washington Post’s “High School Challenge Index,” Herron High School is extending its reputation for excellence into the national spotlight.
