The Global Institute for Food Security nurtures ingenious science with the aim of delivering sustainable global food security. Our mission is to help feed the world through transformative innovations in agriculture and food production that will benefit both local, national and international economies, as well as improving social and environmental well-being. We believe that WHERE we grow food is not as important as HOW we grow food, and work to mobilize emerging technologies to the developing world. GIFS was founded by initial investments from PotashCorp, the Government of Saskatchewan and the University of Saskatchewan.
