Generations For Peace

Generations For Peace (GFP) is a Jordan-based global non-profit peace-building organisation founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan and Sarah Kabbani in 2007. Dedicated to sustainable peace building and the use of sport, advocacy, art, dialogue and empowerment for conflict transformation, GFP empowers volunteer leaders of youth to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship in communities experiencing different forms of conflict and violence. We empower youth leaders at GFP Camps with world-class, free training, mentoring, and education programmes to enable them to pass on their skills and experience to other leaders in their communities, by implementing programmes, based on their understanding of local priorities, community strengths, and conflicts. Since 2007, GFP has trained and mentored more than 8,500 volunteers from more than 50 countries. These peace-building efforts have touched the lives of 216,000+ children and youth. Shared Values Youth Leadership: Youth have a role to play and contribution to make in building consensus, transforming conflict and contributing to sustainable peace. Community Empowerment: Volunteers build grass root support in their communities, putting a human face on the issues, creating momentum and motivation for people to change. Active Tolerance: Programmes are designed to empower youth leaders to bring people together from both sides of the divide into more neutral and tolerant dialogue. Responsible Citizenship: Our goal is for each of us to take responsibility to be active citizens contributing to change where we live for the good of all.
