Franklin Academy Public Charter School is a non-profit private organization overseen by a local board of directors and is not affiliated with any other charter school or management organization. The Franklin Academy is authorized to operate under the Department of Public Instruction Office of Charter Schools. Franklin Academy was founded in 1998 as one of North Carolina’s 100 Charter Schools. Franklin Academy provides a civil environment for academic excellence. With more than 1800 applicants on a waiting list each year, FA is one of the most sought after schools in North Carolina, and perhaps the nation.
