ABOUT. FINCA has been operating in Azerbaijan for 16 years and at present has 65 branches located throughout the country. FINCA directly employs over 1200 people, while also indirectly employing 100s of thousands of people through our strong work supporting the financial business needs of our over 150,000 clients and their own employees and families. Because of clients like you, FINCA has had the opportunity and privilege to grow and develop its network in Azerbaijan these last 16 years so as to continue providing a high level of service throughout the country. At present our loan portfolio outstanding is over $230 million, making us not only the largest MFI in Azerbaijan, but also among the top financial institutions in the country. HISTORY. FINCA stands for the Foundation for International Community Assistance. Established in 1984, FINCA is best known for having pioneered the "Village Banking method"- one of the major forms of microcredit-and for leadership in microfinance overall. FINCA Azerbaijan, LLC, is a non-bank credit organization, operating under limited license from the National Bank of Azerbaijan, providing micro-credit to clients across Azerbaijan. FINCA Azerbaijan is an affiliate of FINCA International, Inc., a network of microfinance institutions based in Washington, D.C., with affiliates operating in 23 countries around the world. FINCA Azerbaijan was founded in 1998, with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Since then, FINCA Azerbaijan has grown to become the leading non-bank credit organization in Azerbaijan.
