CDG is a leading welfare to work charity with more than thirty years’ experience in helping those who are unemployed find and sustain employment.
The charity merged with Shaw Trust in 2012 to form a new charity that builds on the successes of both organisations.
Many of the people CDG supports have multiple barriers to employment including a lack of recent work experience, disabilities, health problems and a lack of relevant employability skills.
CDG started delivering the coalition government’s flagship Work Programme as a prime contractor in London East at the beginning of June. In alliance with international welfare to work provider MAXIMUS, we are also delivering the Work Programme in London West and Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, and are a delivery partner to Avanta in Sussex.
In partnership with WISE Employment, CDG is a Work Choice prime provider in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, responsible for delivering employment support to people with disabilities.
As part of its charitable and public benefit, CDG launched the Expert Volunteer Initiative in 2010. This national scheme aims to sign up 50,000 volunteers across the UK to support the long term unemployed back into work
