CIGRE

CIGRE is the International Council of Large Electric Networks, an association of more than 7000 individual members and 1000 companies or institutions, from more than 90 countries, created in 1921 to develop experience and good practices sharing between professionals in the field of power systems. CIGRE organizes conferences all over the world which can gather more than 3000 participants in the biennal congress of Paris. More than 230 Working Groups managed by 16 Study Committees provide between 30 to 40 technical brochures each year, enriching the CIGRE technical library of more than 8000 documents. CIGRE covers the full spectrum of technical, environmental and market related issues of power systems, from electrical equipment to power system and electricity market development and operation.
