Brisbane German Week

🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪 October is a significant month for us Germans living in Australia! Not only is it the time for our National Day celebrations 🎉 but also for infamous Oktoberfest festivities! 💙🤍🥨🌭🍦🍺 From 1 to 16 October this year, we will showcase Brisbane's educational, scientific, economic, political and cultural connections to Germany, partnering with schools, universities, businesses and a number of significant organisations, many with an affiliation to Germany. 💡 Germans began to settle in 🇦🇺 Australia from 1838, prominently settling in South Australia and 👉 Queensland, which is now the second-largest and third-most populous state in the Commonwealth of Australia. Around 20,000 Germans call Queensland Home! 🏠 Germany has a reputation 🏆 for its highly performing economy, science, excellent research and education as well as sports ⚽️ and its diverse cultural scene while ensuring principles of quality, innovation and sustainability. Despite being 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣'s of kilometres apart, Australia and Germany share many of these traits.
