Brain in Hand is a technology and support system for people who have difficulty responding to unplanned events, social situations and the requirements for immediate action. This can be due to impaired executive functions of the brain: which is experienced by people with conditions such as Asperger's/High Functioning Autism, Acquired Brain Injury and Ischemic Stroke.
Brain in Hand assists users to identify situations where they have difficulty, plan responses in advance and have instant access to these on a smartphone or tablet. Together with a secure website, users can create and update their own schedules and add in lists of predicted problems and possible solutions. This enables the user to manage their own anxiety levels and improve their independence.
Through an anxiety monitoring "Traffic Light" system, users can indicate their level of anxiety by pressing red, amber or green on their smartphone. When a user experiences high anxiety, they can receive direct support from a mentor when they need it most.
